Colleagues,

The Earth Series seminar next week, Monday, March 17th will be given
by Dr. Kim Cobb, Assistant Professor, Georgia Tech

Her talk is entitled:

"Millennial-scale trends in West Pacific Warm Pool hydrology since
the Last Glacial Maximum"

The talk will feature her recent work with the cave deposits
(speleothems) of Malaysia and surrounding regions.

The seminar will take place in 4500 Hubbs Hall. Refreshments will be
served at 3:00; the seminar will begin at 3:15.

Though this falls during finals week, the talk was added to the Earth
Series schedule as a special "seminar of opportunity"--Dr. Cobb will
be at SIO for one day only. Her free time will be limited, but if
you'd like to arrange a meeting with her outside of the seminar
discussion, please let me know.

Hope to see you there,
Chris Charles
