Please consider submitting an abstract for a session at the Spring AGU=20=

on coastal observatories.

The 2005 Joint Assembly, organized by SEG, NABS, AAS and AGU, will be=20
held 23-27 May 2005 in New Orleans.=A0 A session particularly relevant =
to=20
SCCOOS is "Regional and Coastal Ocean Observing Systems Along the USA=20
Southern Border."=A0=A0 Abstracts are due Thursday, 11 February at 10:59 =
pm=20
PST.

  Session description:=A0 the regional and coastal ocean observing (and=20=

modeling) systems developing along the southern border of the USA=20
(California, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Puerto=20
Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands) offer opportunities to collaborate=20
on scientific and technological issues of common concern. The=20
opportunities extend to working with neighboring countries within the=20
Caribbean Basin especially Mexico and the Bahamas. The disciplinary=20
scope of this session is broad and includes coastal physical=20
oceanography and meteorology, coastal ocean ecosystem analysis, and=20
coastal ocean biogeochemical transport rate and pathway analysis. It is=20=

timely to review the progress, impact, scientific and technological=20
issues, and plans of the various systems and seek a common, overarching=20=

scientific and technological agenda.
